Jahrbuch des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts / 2000: Band 115 [Gebundene Ausgabe]

In its „Jahrbuch“, which first appeared in 1885, the German Archaeological Institute annually published some ten or more papers dealing mainly with topics from Classical Archaeology, especially Greece and Rome; occasional topics are also treated from Early Byzantine or Early Islamic Studies or from Early Anatolian and Western European History. During the end of the 20th century, the contents have become more specialized and broader, encompassing the history of art and style, iconography, hermeneutics, typology, the compliation of material and the reconstruction of works of sculpture and architecture. Each volume of the appointed work covers a variety of topics. Articles are published in German, French, English or Italian. The „Jahrbuch“ does not contain excavation reports, news items or book reviews; it concentrates on critical discussion of known largescale archaeological sites.
